Lately I have been loving the leopard pillows all around Instagram. They are absolutely chic and perfect for room decor. However, the price was daunting, paying $60-70 for one pillow (was too pricey for me). I decided to recreate these chic pillows for less and its so simple your 5 year daughter could do it! (If you have one that is lol). So I am going to teach you how to make these luxury pillows for less.
First supplies: You will need at least 2 yards of leopard fabric (Joann Fabrics has an exact replica of the leopard fabric so head to your nearest store and pick it up) The fabric can also be purchased here. Once you have your yards, you will need two pillows from Ikea, the ones I used were the 20X20 inch pillows found here, a pair of cutting scissors, pin needles, and a cutting board. I just used a styrofoam white board in place of the cutting board. Of course you will need a sewing machine, but if you don’t have one there is always fabric glue/tape. A great tutorial of that can be found here. All supplies fabric and pillows cost under $40.00 So let’s get started. You are going to measure your pillows they should be 20×20 (as read on the package) but I like to double check. Then measure your fabric with those same measurements and cut your pieces. You want to make sure you cut on the fold of your fabric. After your done lay the two pieces of cut fabric on top of each other the wrong sides facing out and the right sides facing in. Then pin your fabric down leaving one side open. Make sure that you pin about a one inch mark at the top of the open portion. Sew all around the pillow except the open portion. Turn the pillow on the right side out and place the pillow inside. Then pin the fabric together and sew the pillow together. This may seem complicated so here is a video tutorial if I made you lost! I hope you enjoyed this super quick tutorial and I hope you try these lovely diy leopard pillows out for yourself!
